? Help

I provide Genealogical and Family History research services particularly utilizing the resources of Library and Archives Canada and the Ontario Archives.

Public archives provide access to information collected by government agencies, such as census records, records of government employment, submissions to government boards, and vital statistics. This information is considered private for statutory periods generally established such that the individual covered by the material is probably dead. For example:

To gain access to private information you must establish that you have legitimate grounds for access. For example that you are a close living relative of the individual, and that the individual is deceased and therefore cannot grant you access to their private information.

Therefore before you can delegate research on your family to a professional genealogist you must either collect the appropriate documentation to satisfy the privacy criteria of the government agency, or personally trace your ancestry back beyond the privacy cutoff. The first step is to complete the following family tree, to the best of your ability. All fields whose label is highlighted in bold should be filled in if possible. If you do not know the required information, say so. Even an approximate birth date, such as "about 1905" or "1890s" can help the research, as can an uncertain birthplace such as "Canada or Sweden". Your e-mail address is required only for sending the results of the research to you.
