The unique numeric identifier of the address record in the database. This is assigned by the system when a new address is created, and cannot be altered by the user.
This is a selection list identifying the way the address record is used by the family tree.
Mailing
This kind of address record is used to record the contact information for an individual in the family tree.
Event
This kind of address record is used in place of a location record when the researcher wishes to record the place where an event took place, or a fact was observed, using a structured hierarchical address format, instead of a simple text field.
Repository
This kind of address record is used to record the contact information for a library, archive, or other repository of documentary evidence. It is referred to by master source records.
This selection list specifies how the particular address is to be formatted to satisfy the surface mail routing preferences of the destination country. In particular this influences where the postal code appears in the address.
This field contains the name of the address. This should be unique for all address records of a particular 'Kind'. This is not part of the address as it is used for routing messages, it is an identifier for the address.
This is intended to be used as a sort field when the desirable sort order cannot be determined from the value of Address. It defaults to an empty string.
This field contains a portion of the surface mail address that is more specific than the post office. For example it may be a street address, a rural route number, or a post office box number.
This is the name of the surface mail post office serving the address.
This field contains the name of a political unit containing the post office that is a part of the country containing the address, if required. For the United States, and most other federal nations, this is a state. For Canada it is a province. For countries in the British isles this is a county. For France it is a Département.
This field contains the postal code as assigned by the surface mail administration of the destination country, if applicable.
This field contains the name of the country containing the address.
This field contains a telephone number that can be used to establish voice or facsimile communications with the destination.
This field contains an electronic mail address that can be used to communicate with the destination.
This field contains a Uniform Resource Location (URL) of a web page associated with the address. If you click on this field with the mouse the URL will be opened in a new window.
The latitude of the address expressed as signed degrees, minutes, and seconds in the form "xdddmmss.fff", for example "452217.456", which represents 45°N 22' 17.456".
The longitude of the address expressed as signed degrees, minutes, and seconds in the form "xdddmmss.fff", for example "-752217.456", which represents 75°W 22' 17.456". Note that longitudes west of the Greenwich meridian, that is for all of the Americas, are negative.
If specified, this is intended to override the default preposition "at". To support French a special value "in[masc]" should be specified for countries that have masculine gender and start with a consonant.
This field is used to specify the zoom level for the Google map display. The value of this field is normally set by clicking on the Get Map Info button.
Clicking on this button displays or hides a Google map centered at the location.
Clicking on this button extracts information from the Google map display about the center of the map and its zoom level and stores that information into the latitude, longitude, and zoom level input fields. This permits you to use the zoom and pan functions of the Google map to adjust the display appropriately, and then save those settings for subsequent users.
This is a flag used by Legacy. The checkbox is selected if the value of this field is 'yes'.
User notes about the address. This is an extended editor field permitting you to enter data as if into a word processor, setting font style, embedding pictures, defining hyperlinks, and so on.
