Village on the road from Delaware to Strathroy and very near the centre of Caradoc township.  It was established in 1852 and named after Charles John Brydges the Managing Director of the Great Western Railway because this was the highest elevation on the main line from London to Windsor.

"Haemorrhage" is profuse bleeding from ruptured blood vessels.

"Arterio- or Arterial sclerosis": This is properly atherosclerosis, congestion of the arteries due to the accumulation of fatty deposits on the lining.
